Hatteras 2012

We are here this week staying in Hatteras NC and loving it!! A very much needed break from all the mess that is going on in our lives. My little owl just loves the beach and the ocean when we first walked down to it she started clapping her hands!!! We went walking earlier and she screamed her head off till we put her down to play in the sand. It brings me such joy to see her enjoying herself!!

We also went today to see the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. I had high expecations of taking her up there to the top but they said that I could not climb up there with her bc she was too small....but we had fun looking at it and visiting the gift shop. It was very hot so we did not stay long and in the end I was very thankful that I did not try to climb up there with her!!

We also took a couple of shots of her on the beach I think they turned out well....she was more interested in eating shells and playing in the sand then taking pictures but that just made it better!!

All in all we have had good first couple of days!! Im sure there will be more stories to come!

A little fun on the side

So every other weekend my little owl goes to North Carolina with her father which leaves me with a lot of time ( really too much time) to myself. So I have now found it is fun to redo fruniture....not very good at it but hope to get better!! And I am starting off with a few pieces for my new room seeing as I have no bedroom fruniture! my first piece was a night stand.....

Like I said I am new at this but have found it very fun doing this. My next two projects are a book shelf for my little owl's room and then a bench for a vanity (that we haven't found yet).

Starting Over

As many of my friends know my daughter and I just moved back to Virginia from North Carolina. Even though the reasoning behind the move is not the best I know that everything happens for a reason. Now that we are back in Virginia we are getting back to seeing new things. This past week my little owl saw a lot of things for the first time. She saw and cow and some new baby chicks!!

We saw the chickens at my sister's house. My little owl loved them she tried really hard to get one but they just kept running!! Her cousin got a hold of one but G-Ma came to the rescue!! We saw the cow at G-Ma's work.....it was also little owl's first time sitting in the grass which was way more interesting to her than the cows!!

For now we are trying to settle into our new routine and get everything straight for our future and trying to live life to the fullest while doing so!!! we are excited for whats to come!!
